PE 22-28 peptide: Cognitive / Neuro research guide
In short: PE 22-28 is a seven-residue peptide derived from spadin (PE 12-28), the sortilin-propeptide fragment studied as a TREK-1 (K2P) channel blocker in rodent models. It is studied in preclinical (cell and animal) research and is supplied strictly for laboratory use, not for human or clinical use.
Not medical advice. PE 22-28 is a research compound. This guide does not provide dosing, diagnosis, therapy recommendations, or claims about effects in humans.

What PE 22-28 is
PE 22-28 is a seven-residue peptide cut down from spadin, the sortilin-propeptide fragment studied as a TREK-1 potassium channel blocker in rodent research.
One-paragraph overview from our research datasheet. Still scientific, but faster to read than the full mechanism list below.

Research contexts
Peer-reviewed papers discuss PE 22-28 in specific lab settings. The points below reflect research questions, not health claims.
Research vs. personal use: Literature describes experiments in cells and animals. That is distinct from real-world use. Our products are for laboratory research only.
Typical study contexts
Stress, sleep and neuronal signalling in rodents.
Some compounds appear in small exploratory human studies elsewhere. Still not DIY use.
Seven-residue fragment (propeptide positions 22-28) derived from spadin, PE 12-28.
Characterised by patch-clamp on a human TREK-1 HEK cell line, with a reported IC50 near 0.1 nM against about 40 nM for spadin.
Compared with spadin for persistence in mouse serum and in mice.
Reference peptide for TREK-1 (K2P) channel pharmacology in rodent behavioural-model research.
Why Cognitive / Neuro research matters
Cognitive-related peptides are explored for stress pathways and neuronal signalling in animals. Not treatments for human brain conditions.
Mechanisms (technical review)
Our datasheet lists mechanistic themes from preclinical work. These are research endpoints, not health claims.

Common Questions People Are Asking
What is PE 22-28?
PE 22-28 is a seven-residue peptide derived from spadin, covering positions 22 to 28 of the sortilin propeptide. It was studied as a TREK-1 channel inhibitor in cells and mice. This page supplies it as laboratory research material only.
How does it differ from spadin?
Spadin spans positions 12 to 28 of the propeptide; PE 22-28 is the shorter seven-residue fragment. In the 2017 paper it inhibited TREK-1 currents at a lower concentration than spadin and its action was reported to last longer in mice.
Is there human research on PE 22-28?
No controlled human data are cited on this page. The studies cited used a human TREK-1 cell line and mice, and their results do not establish effects in people.
Why is the sequence not listed?
The residue letters, formula and molecular weight could not be confirmed from the cited papers, so they are left out rather than guessed.
What does the single-vial sample contain?
One 10 mg vial of the same lyophilised research material as the sealed 10-vial pack, for in-vitro and preclinical use only.
Is this page medical advice? Can I use PE 22-28 for my health?
No, and no. This article is educational only. We do not provide dosing, medical recommendations, or health claims. Our products are sold strictly for laboratory research, not for personal use of any kind.
Where do I find PE 22-28 specs, purity certificates and pricing?
Open the shop listing via “View product details.” There you will see concentration, purity grade, and available SKUs with current pricing. No current Certificate of Analysis is published for PE 22-28 yet; published certificates are listed at /coa.
